Just west of Corpus Christi, Texas is a county park you can camp in Three Rivers Texas. $15 a night for full hookups and $5 for dry/tent camping. It’s called Tips park and it’s across the Frio River from the Valero refinery. Thanks for watching!!!

That’s probably not the Adirondack’s best kept camping secret. It’s undeniably beautiful there. I hope there’s a little known dispersed camping spot that doesn’t have to be reserved and it’s private ( on public land) and it’s priceless for a few days, maybe even a week or two depending on the forest rules.

@@Parkyacar if I may make one suggestion, I'd try out shooting a video in 60fps if possible. The way youtube compresses videos it makes some of the panning shots kind of blurry even when watching in HD.

Yes it is and the water temp was amazing..81 degrees perfect for swimming and a group of dolphins came into the creek

Yeah the campground layout was very well planned and the bathrooms are always super clean
The pool and beach there are fantastic as well as the boat ride over to Magic Kingdom.
I never had the chance to video the pool and forgot to tape the ferry ride..thanks for mentioning that

I don’t know if you mentioned this or not but a visit to the LSU Campus is just a short bike ride away and was the highlight of my trip there.

Is it safe to swim ?
Excellent question Laura… I would say probably not because the water is very murky, the current was very strong because of recent flooding, and there could possibly be alligators here in Louisiana
As a local I can tell you there certainly are alligators in that water, years ago I had a friend that lived a couple of miles down river from that park that lost a large hundred pound dog to one.

There are 5 campsites with picnic tables
Aren’t those just day use picnic tables at the entrance?
@@Parkyacar Yes that group is just day use. Then the restroom then to the right of that the first designated campsite with a cement table. Keep going and there are 4 more tables. After the 5 tables total there is land you can camp almost anywhere if you can drive the roads. Just go slow.

I'm glad you liked it. We did not - at all. Rocky hot windy and so dusty you feel like you've been trapped in a sandstorm. Couldn't wait to leave, shower and clean the dust off every surface and nook and cranny of our rig. Never again.

How is the water & air quality?
I guess the water is fine as there are lots of people fishing on the river.. as for the air..it’s fine..occasionally you’ll smell and oil smell from the refinery when the wind shifts, but it’s not bad

Yes..there was someone at the entrance selling passes..don’t know if they are there every day though

They have a long term visitor area there that has fresh water, sewer dump and garbage dumpsters. I have been there Seven out of the last eight winters.

@@Parkyacar it’s not at that lake. It’s up the hill about a mile. But you have to be staying in the permitted area to use them.

I think you are talking about Martinez Lake, north of Mittry lake few miles
@@thunderbird97 No, I’m not. Martinez lake is some miles north of Mittey Lake., between both lakes is Senators Wash, which is the long term camping area that requires either a 2 week permit or the 8 month permit but has the water station, sewer dump and garbage bins.
Is the dry camping self pay ? I would be concerned about putting cash in envelope & even carrying too much cash...
Yes it’s a self pay honesty box. We don’t carry a lot of cash, but just enough small bills for self pay situations like these.
How was the fire road 525? If one has a toy hauler loaded with a side x side can it be driven? Thanks.

Just impossible to get away from people. My idea of camping is alone. LOL. Fortunately I have property and a fifth wheel north of Williams I'll be moving into in a little over a week.

I saw people fishing while I was there, but don’t know if they caught anything..there is also a ramp for boats
After 3 winters in the FL, GA & AL area, we are planning on Southern AZ next winter. Looks good - really like that they have dumpsters!

@@serhammalot01 I can’t say we are snow birds - our home base is in a warmish place and we’ve never seen snow there. We have property we can stay on in Southern Arizona, so I think we can stay out of your way. Oh, but we do spend money & try to support the local businesses! Cheers!
